Meet Bettina Daubenmerkl, Kigo Implementation Consultant based in Barcelona. A native of Germany, Bettina has a love for new cultures and people, which allows her to connect with and serve Kigo's global clients. Bettina is talented, driven, and goes above and beyond in her daily work.

Tell us about yourself!

My name is Bettina, and I was born in Weiden a small town in Bavaria, Germany. I moved to Barcelona in 2010 after finishing my studies and joined Kigo in 2016. Outside of work, I love to take a walks by the beach and I recently started to learn Italian.

What is your role at Kigo?

I am an Implementation Consultant at Kigo and I work for the Spanish, English and German-speaking markets. My role is to successfully onboard our customers by helping them set up their Kigo accounts, connect to the portals, and onboard any Value Added Services. I have dedicated training and Q&A calls with my customers to make sure that they are effectively using the system before they are transferred to our Kigo Care or CRE teams.

What do you love about your job?

My favorite aspect of my job is working with customers from all over the world who speak different languages.  I enjoy being part of the process of helping them to grow their business and to increase their revenue through Kigo.

What makes Kigo stand out from the competition?

Kigo is always one step ahead of its competition because of its constant innovation. Kigo listens to its customers’ needs and continually works to on improve its internal processes.

What is your favorite feature of Kigo?

My favorite Kigo feature is Kigo Operations Manager. It saves our customers a lot of time, which they can dedicate to other important tasks.

How is Kigo changing the vacation rental industry?

Kigo looks at the challenges vacation rental management professionals face, and is constantly working on developments and innovations to help our customers solve them.

How does your hobby/passion translate into your role at Kigo?

I love to work with customers from all over the world. To live in a different country than the one you grew up in, you need to be open to adapting to its culture and lifestyle.  This helps me understand our customers and adapt to their way of working. The process for this can be very different depending on where they are from.

Tell us about how you search for a vacation rental. What do you look for, and what do you avoid?

I usually look for nice apartments on Airbnb and Booking.com first. As Barcelona is such a big city, I avoid traveling to crowded places and prefer places where I can relax and totally disconnect. I normally look for features that I do not have in my daily life, such as apartments that have a swimming pool but that are still affordable.

How can property owners make their vacation rentals more appealing to travelers like yourself?

They can make the experience easy, and make sure there are no inconvenient surprises or hidden costs that were not mentioned when booking the property.
