HomeToGo Helps New US-Based Property Managers Bounce Back with 0% Commission

HomeToGo is both the world's largest vacation rental search engine and the fastest-growing booking channel with more than 18 million offers from more than 2,000 vacation home websites around the world. Over the past four years, we’ve focused our efforts on growing our presence within the United States. Despite the pandemic, we grew to an all-time high of 7.5 million visitors in June and continue to work with property managers to help them diversify their revenue streams with the goal of increasing the likelihood of conversion.

There’s no hiding that 2020 has been a tough year. But there have been some silver linings for those of us in the vacation rental industry. With governments and health experts encouraging social distancing, we’ve seen interest in vacation rentals skyrocket––especially in the United States. Travelers have not lost their desire to travel. What’s changed is that travelers are looking for domestic destinations first and seeing what’s in their own backyard. They’re gauging the situation on a day-to-day basis and making last-minute reservations with property managers. That means to get ahead, now’s the time to be more flexible than ever before.

Recently, we put out a survey for property managers. In that survey, we found that 64% of property managers have diversified their revenue channels since the pandemic began. But 36% still say they have not diversified even though 82% say they are interested in listing on more OTAs.

We hear from property managers time and time again about the importance of diversifying and how they've gotten guests through HomeToGo whom they otherwise wouldn't have gotten. The bottom line is, you need more travelers looking at your properties and the biggest mistake you can make right now is to rely on one or two websites to bring you bookings. It makes you dependent, it makes you weak, and you lose control. You lose control over cancellations, communication, and cash flow.

On the other hand, we understand that resources are hard to come by these days and it can be a difficult time to try something new. But we also know that now is the time to try something new. So earlier this year, we brainstormed a new program for property managers who are interested in coming aboard but are feeling a bit hesitant at the moment––the Bounce Back Program.

The Bounce Back Program waives our commission for 2020 with any new US-based property managers. That means more money going directly into your pocket to help you recover from this unprecedented travel season. The connection process takes three simple steps. You complete the connection form, activate your properties on Kigo, and your inventory goes live on HomeToGo within two weeks. By listing with HomeToGo, you'll get paid quickly upon any booking and you can communicate directly with your guests.

This is our way to prove that we’re truly in this together. It’s our way of supporting property managers and the industry at large to help us all get through this difficult period and bounce back stronger than ever before.
