There’s no hiding that 2020 has been a tough year. But there have been some silver linings for those of us in the vacation rental industry. With governments and health experts encouraging social distancing, we’ve seen interest in vacation rentals skyrocket––especially in the United States. Travelers have not lost their desire to travel. What’s changed is that travelers are looking for domestic destinations first and seeing what’s in their own backyard. They’re gauging the situation on a day-to-day basis and making last-minute reservations with property managers. That means to get ahead, now’s the time to be more flexible than ever before.

Recently, we put out a survey for property managers. In that survey, we found that 64% of property managers have diversified their revenue channels since the pandemic began. But 36% still say they have not diversified even though 82% say they are interested in listing on more OTAs.

We hear from property managers time and time again about the importance of diversifying and how they've gotten guests through HomeToGo whom they otherwise wouldn't have gotten.
