WIRED’s Jeremy White to Speak at KigoWorld ’19

One of the key topics that KigoWorld '19 will explore April 1-3 in Barcelona, Spain, is vacation rental industry disruptions that affect property managers and owners. There’s no better source storyteller than Jeremy White, Executive Editor of WIRED Magazine. At WIRED, he is charged with analyzing and identifying emerging trends and technological shifts that affect consumers and businesses.

White is often tasked with giving his spin on products at the very edge of innovation and design. These range from wearables to supercars and architecture to autonomous cars. His expansive knowledge has led to numerous speaking and consultative engagements.

Actionable information takes business to the next level

At KigoWorld, he joins VRMB founder Matt Landau as two leading experts who will share industry trends and help vacation rental owners and operators keep pace with the market's rapid growth rate. White is the perfect complement to Landau, who returns to KigoWorld to explain why 2019 will be the most influential year in the history of the vacation rental industry.

KigoWorld attendees will get three full days of insights ranging from what’s disrupting the global vacation rental industry, to how to overcome a brand identity crisis, to how to drive booking growth on HomeAway, Airbnb, Booking.com and other OTA channels. Along the way, attendees can learn about adopting the most secure vacation rental payment technologies, minimizing asset risk with insurance and other tools, how to build supply acquisition strategies and why revenue management matters most to small vacation rental companies.

Using hospitality to create an exceptional guest experience in every rental property is another key trend. This is distinguishing vacation and short-term rentals from the rest of the rental market and making them competitive with the hotel industry. 87 percent of consumers are more likely to do business with travel brands offering personalized experiences, as stated in "Travel Megatrends 2019" from Skift.

New technology offers the vacation rental industry an opportunity for positive change

White, who appears regularly on the BBC and Sky News, has written about technology and design for more than ten years and is the technology expert for Telegraph Luxury and Harrods. Before WIRED, he was the digital editor for How To Spend It and the Financial Times. White also was technology editor at Esquire magazine.

New technology is rapidly changing the way business operates for the good, says White, who will take the stage for an April 2 keynote.

“We’re seeing rulebooks being torn up right in front of us on a daily basis,” he says in a video on his website. “What was actually the right way to do something six months earlier is now the wrong way to do it. That’s a scary proposition when the ground is shifting so quickly. But it’s also a tremendous opportunity.”

The Internet of Things and artificial intelligence are two pieces of technology that offer opportunities for owners and operators to move their businesses forward.

“It’s a tremendously exciting time because I can see how this is rapidly going to change how we live our lives, and the companies and individuals that embrace this sort of change are going to have a tremendously bright future,” White said.

KigoWorld is your destination for innovation and inspiration.
