Picture a bigger business

How much is excellent vacation rental photography worth to your business? You might be surprised! Professional photography may be a bit pricey, but the benefits can far outweigh the cost. In fact, it can transform your business. Discover “The truth about vacation rental photography with Tyann Marcink.” Tyann, entrepreneur, vacation property owner, blogger, mother of three and photographer extraordinaire, is the author of two books on vacation rental photography. She knows her stuff. One vacation rental property owner from the article named Eric will vouch for that. By switching to a professional photographer, he grew his business by 39% in one year.

Check it out. And check out the right way to display your new photos with vacation rental website software. Kigo websites offer advanced options for personalization, helping you highlight the best features of your properties.

Photo finish

You may have decided to hire a well-reviewed professional photographer to put the finishing touches on your website. Great. But you’re not done. Your photographer will have a vision of what your property should look like. But what about YOUR vision? Only you know what makes your properties special. You need to be ready to convey your wishes to the photographer so you get the pictures YOU want. What time of day do you want your photos taken? How many details do you want in your photos? If your photographer uses an ultra-wide angle lens, you’ll get way too many details. What do you do if you, like most of us, are not up on the latest lenses? Get some tips from photo experts. Here are a couple of online articles that will give you the knowledge to speak like an expert. Digital Trends has a nice piece on lighting, details, and seasonal timing of photos.

Pinteresting properties

Where do you get ideas for staging your properties? You want the best photographs of the most beautiful properties out there. Searching  for quality vacation rental blogs is one good way, but for sheer bulk of brilliant photos, nothing matches Pinterest. There are more than just photos of vacation rental properties on Pinterest. There are entire curated sites dedicated to stunning photos of perfectly staged rooms, exteriors and landscapes. The curators, many of them property owners, have done an enormous amount of work for you by finding the best photography out there. For example, check out Cottage Blogger’s “77 Best Staging Vacation Rental Homes Images on Pinterest,” or Brenda Irwin’s “167 Best Vacation Homes Images on Pinterest.” There are pin sites from the bigger players, too, like TripAdvisor’s collection of 72 photo essays, each with multiple photographs of dazzling vacation properties. More ideas than you’ll know what to do with. But that’s a good thing!
